ABSTRACT

The more evident motor dysfunction of the cerebral vascular accident (CVA) is the hemiplegia. The hemiplegics patients present a trend in remaining itself in a position of postural asymmetry. The objective of this study was to evaluate the rotation of the trunk in hemiplegics patients after CVA, submitted to the use of the orthesis anti-rotational of trunk (OART) associated to a program of physiotherapeutic treatment in comparisonwith patients submitted only to the program of exercises. 18 patients from both sexes were evaluated by photometry method and analyzed by posturogram Fisiometer. The OART stimulates the proprioception contributing for the postural alignment.
